I'm crushing hard on Blitzen Trapper's Furr album. This album better make it onto some "Top of 2008" posts.
I'm not good at the whole "album review" genre of blog posts, so I'll point you to some reviews that are far better than I could write.
All I can say is that the album has put me in the best of moods this morning.
Rootsy. Playful. Soulful. Delicious.

It didn't make my list, but I haven't listened to it. Someone passed me a copy of their previous release and I was unimpressed. I may give this a try and amend my list if it's good.
I don't have last year's release. I think I heard a song or two & didn't care for it. However, I loved "Wicked" off of the "Choke" soundtrack & looked into them again. Give "Furr" a listen. Standouts for me = Gold for Bread, Furr, Black River Killer, and Not Your Lover.
My iPod rolled from this album straight into Bon Iver's "Skinny Love," and it was like a soothing hot apple cider treat for my ears. Yummy.
